About the Abstinence Track

By entering the abstinence track, you have made a deliberate decision to stop using substances altogether. This choice requires a complete commitment. It does not mean cutting back or simply reducing your intake. Instead, your objective is to completely refrain from using any mood-altering drug.

As you navigate this path, it is equally important not to substitute substances. When an individual stops misusing one substance, there is a strong psychological risk that they will instinctively search for a replacement. This can lead to adopting another harmful drug or falling into an unhealthy, compulsive behavior to fill the void. True abstinence means choosing to step away from all mind-altering dependencies entirely.

Please note. As you continue in your journey, additional changes will be made. We encourage you to use our Learning Resources and Tool section to further build on your plan.
